Exciting new evergreens to enhance any garden or landscape! With two unique forms to choose from, Blue Cascade™ and Emerald Heights® add interesting texture and shape to foundation plantings. They are ideal replacements for typical hollies and laurels found in today's landscapes. The reddish-maroon flowers bloom in late January through March adding interest during the winter months. Distylium is known for its exceptional heat and drought tolerance making it perfect for low maintenance gardens.

• Dig a planting hole twice as large as the root ball.
• Remove plant from container and place in planting hole.
• Level top of root ball with the ground.
• Backfill.
• Water.
• Mulch.
• Keep moist until established.

With its good natural form, pruning is not typically required for distylium. To develop or maintain a desired shape or size, however, it is best to prune after late winter flowering.

With its evergreen foliage, distylium creates a flow of green in the garden all year long. Include a variety of summer-blooming annuals & perennials for additional color in the landscape. Consider planting summer blooming shrubs such as paniculata hydrangeas. The blooms can then be paired with the unique foliage of the distylium to make stunning cut flower arrangements.
