    Hot Head® Thuja has come from the work of the University of Georgia Institute of Plant Breeding, Genetics and Genomics in the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences. The developer, John M. Ruter, is an Allan M. Armitage Professor & UGA Trial Gardens Director; with an emphasis on Ornamental breeding & production.

    Dr. Ruter's goal is to develop and evaluate new plants for southeastern landscapes which have unique horticultural characteristics or improved environmental tolerances.
